I ended up going 4/0, as I recall I spent $500 on 25' of red and 25' of black tinned marine grade wire wire But, I know that part of the electrical system is pretty much bulletproof. I have a 150A fuse on the hot line running to the engine, then it goes to a blue sea battery combiner switch, and the neg line runs to a bus bar. From the power switch I have a #10 wire feeding the house power needs, and then the 4/0 going back to the engine. When I add a pot puller I'll just land another #10 on the house battery feed from the switch, and an inline fuse. I got a combination of 1/4' and 3/8' lugs for the cable, for the life of me I don't recall the dia of the studs on the engine, but it looks like somebody found them. I thought they were the same I didn't have a proper crimping tool, but I found that my nicropress swager (for aircraft cable) did a fair job, and then I also soldered every connection.

I figure with tinned wire, tinned lugs and solder I don't have to worry about green funk killing my power transmission.
